Winning 1st place in Polyvore’s #etsyevolution group Boho Themed Contest,
Victor’s set embodies the feeling and mood of the era. We love it.
This is a little insight on how Victor shares & creates.
In his own words …
“I have the chance to live in the south of France, surrounded by old stones and antiques, small villages where you can feel the soul of each house and where every street has got a story to tell.
I grew up in one of those villages, wandering around freely, hiding in tiny city gardens and steeling cherries on trees.
Sometimes my father would take me out to draw the fortifications, we would sit on the ground near one of the doors and he would teach me geometrical shapes and perspectives. I still like to draw when I get some time.
Back in those days I was already a collector. I could imagine a new life to every broken object I would find and this passion never left me. Nowadays, apart from my vintage shop, I love to buy broken objects and toys on flea markets, and I sometimes create little art collage with all my treasures which I share on my Instagram account (www.instagram.com/the_vegetarian_wolf/).
This passion shows in the way I take photos of my items on LarriereBoutique. I guess I am a kind of story-teller in my own way.
I used to write few years ago, short stories and poems for kids, but always dark and cruel ones. My home looks like it’s Halloween every day and one of my favorite author is Edgar Allan Poe.
I am a cynical person most of the time and in most of my sets on Polyvore – I like to dig into hidden feelings because our pains make our humanity.
But I also like to seek for quiet moments filled with love and light (I create the sets for the Fresh Ones here : thefreshones.polyvore.com).
I really enjoy creating sets on Polyvore, I was sad about the disappearance of the Etsy Treasuries and I have to say that Polyvore gives us more liberty to create art sets. I always start my sets with one photo, not knowing where it will lead me to. The result depends a lot on what song I am listening to at the very same moment.”

In her own words…
“My name is Evelyn Doyle and am lucky to live in Canberra, Australia which houses the National Art Gallery, National Library and Portrait Gallery so there is always something happening in the arts community.
I am currently devoting most of my time to establishing and growing my vintage Etsy shop, MuskRoseVintage.
My shop is a place to find vintage and antiques and I try to keep an eclectic range to suit all tastes and budgets though I am slowly increasing my antique selection and want to increase the range of vintage books.
I love paper ephemera such as postcards and old papers which I also sell in the shop. Documents, postcards and other ephemera tell us so much about the past and what it might have been like to live in those times.

Most of my stock at the moment is jewellery including antique, vintage and retro. Jewellery is popular and I like finding lovely and unusual pieces to keep the range interesting. I don’t see myself as having a particular speciality because I like to promote a variety of items and the range is ever-changing.

I really enjoy using Polyvore to promote not only my own items, but to help support other shops in the Etsy community as well. Polyvore is another way to explore a creative outlet for art and design. It can be quite addictive so I have to pace myself.
I studied art throughout my life & have done short courses in painting and drawing. I was drawn to mixed media primarily because it is fun to use other objects to make a painting, but I don’t limit myself to one style – i like exploring abstract art, mixed media, traditional landscapes & still life. At the moment I am in a mixed media phase, recently changing from my lifetime love of oils to acrylics which I find work better in creating my mixed media art.
My personal style is eclectic. It changes depending on whatever inspiration takes hold at the time. Dressing down in casual jeans and a ts- I do enjoy dressing up to go out and have a small collection of vintage and handmade jewellery that I enjoy wearing.
Local trends? Coffee, beards, retro and vintage are big at the moment.

There are so many experienced and talented people on Polyvore and we can all learn from each other. As a relative newcomer I would just say enjoy the process of creating, try different items and embellishments until something works for you. Don’t be scared to try something different, as sometimes the end result can be surprising.
My mother was a great source of inspiration as she had great style. The gene for collecting interesting old wares must have originated with her fascination for found objects.

One of my favorite artist is Australian artist Margaret Olley who was famous for her still life. Her use of colour was unique and she used a loose style which I found very appealing.

My home is filled to the brim with books some going back to my 70s university days. I collect anything I can use as a photography backdrop for my shop or interesting items to paint or use for painting such as shells, bits of wood, plant matter and stones. “
